Notes on Proprietary Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky Bluegrass is the most popular type of lawn grass in the Midwest. Proprietary bluegrass varieties are very dark green and beautiful. Kentucky Bluegrass also mixes well with ryegrass to provide a very nice lawn. Bluegrass takes the most maintenance of any turf grass and will go dormant before ryegrasses and tall fescues. Bluegrass generally germinates in 20-25 days.

Notes on Turf-Type Perennial Ryegrass

Ryegrass varieties in Execu-Turf® Mixes and Blends are very dark green and durable. They provide the excellent look of a well-maintained fairway on a golf course. Ryegrass varieties in Execu-Turf® are selected for enhanced gray leaf spot resistance. Ryegrass exhibits quick germination and provides quick ground cover to hold the soil. Ryegrass often goes dormant after bluegrasses but before tall fescues. Ryegrass generally germinates in 7-10 days.
